System Builder Database

The Racing Edge system builder database is a downloadable Microsoft Access file which allows you to run different racing "What if?" scenarios against our database.

Scenarios can be used against our ratings or independently, for example:-

• You could run a scenario whereby you run the top rated blue horses, in races with more than 6 runners, with odds of less than 4/1. 

• You could run a scenario to see how well a particular trainer or jockey performs at a particular course.

The database comprises of 18 months of ratings data (From August 2005), together with full results and other extra information. Regular monthly updates will be posted to the site.

In addition to the standard variables found in the ratings, the database includes new information such as:

• Race types (Maiden, Handicap etc)
• Score Margins
• Therm Margins
• Horses age
• Going
• Full results of the race
• A favourite flag
• General race type (NH, Flat, AW)
• Colour flag (Red, Black, Blue, Purple)
• Jockey's Claim

The database is available to you as a free download by clicking on the link below. Please note that in order to run the database you will need MS Access 2003 (Part of the MS Office package) installed on your computer. However, it is our intention to also integrate the system builder database into the website, after we have made some technical infrastructure changes.

The database file has been virus checked and is maintained on regularly virus checked computers, however we can not guarantee that the file is virus free, and you should use your own virus checking software before opening any downloaded file.
